L'Église de la Visitation-de-la-Sainte-Vierge de Pointe-du-Lac est une église catholique située au centre du noyau villageois de Pointe-du-Lac, à Trois-Rivières. Il s'agit de la troisième église construite à cet emplacement. Elle a été construite en 1882 et 1883 par Georges-Félix Héroux, un architecte et entrepreneur de Yamachiche à partir des ruines d'une église construite en 1844 et incendiée en 1882.

Le 31 mai 2013, elle fut consacrée en recevant une bénédiction solennelle de Mgr Luc Bouchard reconnaissant ainsi la vitalité de la paroisse où 600 fidèles assistaient à la messe tous les dimanches et 200 baptêmes étaient célébrés chaque année.

Visitation de la Sainte-Vierge

La Visitation de Marie est une fête chrétienne célébrée le 31 mai. C’est la commémoration dans l’Évangile de Saint-Luc de la visite que rend Marie, enceinte du Christ, à sa cousine Élisabeth, enceinte de Jean-Baptiste. Nous retrouvons les paroles d’Élisabeth dans la première partie du « Je vous salue Marie ».

Par la Visitation, la mission de Jean Baptiste et celle de Jésus sont confirmées. Jean a annoncé la naissance du Messie et nous reconnaissons alors dans le Christ le « Vrai Dieu et Vrai Homme ». C’est aussi en cette occasion que Marie, remplie de l’Esprit-Saint, a prononcé le Magnificat qui souligne le lien profond entre l’Espérance, la Charité et la Foi.

Visitations-de-la-Sainte-Vierge Church

Visitation-de-la-Sainte-Vierge Church in Pointe-du-Lac is a Catholic church located in the heart of the village of Pointe-du-Lac, in Trois-Rivières. It is the third church built on this site. It was built in 1882 and 1883 by Georges-Félix Héroux, an architect and contractor from Yamachiche, from the ruins of a church built in 1844 and burned down in 1882.

On May 31, 2013, it was consecrated by receiving a solemn blessing from Mgr Luc Bouchard recognizing the vitality of the parish where 600 faithful attended Mass every Sunday and 200 baptisms were celebrated each year.

Visitation of the Blessed Virgin

The Feast of the Visitation of Mary is a Christian feast celebrated on May 31. This is the commemoration in the Gospel of St. Luke of the visit of Mary, pregnant with Christ, to her cousin Elizabeth, pregnant with John the Baptist. We find the words of Elizabeth in the first part of the "Hail Mary."

The mission of John the Baptist and that of Jesus were confirmed by the Visitation. John announced the birth of the Messiah and we recognize in Christ the "True God and True Man." It also was on this occasion that Mary, filled with the Holy Spirit, pronounced the Magnificat, which underlines the profound link between Hope, Charity and Faith.
