Église de Sainte-Thècle

L'église Sainte-Thècle a été construite de 1903 à 1905 et elle est bénie en 1905. La construction de l’église fut réalisée par la Shawinigan Construction Cie selon les plans de l'architecte Joseph-Georges Bussières.
L’architecture interne est élaborée par le Trifluvien Charles Lafond qui signe les plans et devis de l'intérieur de l'église et de la sacristie. En 1912, on y installe les cloches qui proviennent de la cathédrale de Trois-Rivières. Ensuite, en 1931, un contrat est donné à Louis-Eustache Monty, pour la réalisation des tableaux ornant les murs et la voûte du temps.
Sainte-Thècle
Sainte-Thècle fut convertie par Saint Paul à Iconium. Condamnée au feu, elle vit le Seigneur lui apparaître, les flammes l’entourent sans la brûler puis un orage vint éteindre les flammes.
Elle fut ensuite confirmée dans la foi par St-Paul. Elle est accusée à nouveau et est condamnée aux bêtes. Les lions viennent lui lécher les pieds. On la fit jeter dans une fosse remplie de serpents. Le feu vint consumer tous les serpents. Elle resta sans blessure.
Rendue à la liberté, elle revint dans sa patrie pour y prêcher la foi et y mourut vers l’âge de 80 ans.
On la fête le 24 septembre.

Sainte-Thècle Church
Sainte-Thècle Church was built between 1903 and 1905 and was blessed in 1905. The church was built by Shawinigan Construction Cie according to the plans of the architect Joseph-Georges Bussières.
The internal architecture was designed by Charles Lafond of Trois-Rivières, who signed the plans and specifications for the interior of the church and the sacristy. The bells from the Trois-Rivières cathedral were installed in 1912. Then, in 1931, a contract is given to Louis-Eustache Monty, to produce the paintings decorating the walls and the vault of the time.
Sainte-Thècle (St. Thecla)
Sainte Thècle (St. Thecla) was converted by Saint Paul in Iconium. Condemned to burn, she saw the Lord appear to her, the flames surrounded her without burning her and then a storm came to extinguish the flames.
She was then confirmed in the faith by St. Paul. She was accused again and sentenced to the beasts. The lions came and licked her feet. She was thrown into a pit filled with snakes. Fire came and consumed all the snakes. She remained unharmed.
After being set free, she returned to her homeland to preach the faith and died there at the age of 80.
She is celebrated on September 24.
